As part of the museum's 57th anniversary year, this exhibition brings together 95 of Boris Lurie's works curated by Reynier Valdés Piñeiro. "The exhibition has a biographical character," explains Piñeiro, "to the extent that it interweaves significant moments in Lurie's life with major stages of his creation."
Walking through the gallery space, visitors can explore the main themes and artistic elements that distinguish the different periods of Lurie's work - drawings of fragmented figures during the 1940s, dismembered women during the 1950s, the frontal NOs characteristic of NO!art during the 1960s, and his sculptural collection of concrete stars and knives from the 1970s.
An interactive component of the exhibition invites guests to say NO to whatever they consider unfair in their society and in the world.
